Colombo, September 14
- Sachin Vasvani
Just read the below written quotes given by Greats of the Game about Sachin Tendulkar and you will have an idea of what this man really means:
"I'll be going to bed having nightmares of Sachin just running down the wicket and belting me back over the head for six. He was unstoppable. I don't think anyone, apart from Don Bradman, is in the same class as Sachin Tendulkar. He is just an amazing player" (SHANE WARNE)
"You take Don Bradman away and he is next up I reckon." (STEVE WAUGH)
"He's 99.5 percent perfect" (VIV RICHARDS)
“He is currently the best batsman in the world” (SIR GARY SOBERS)
It does not make any sense anymore discussing the class and grace of Sachin Tendulkar. For the last many and many years, he has been serving the country and entertaining the cricket fans all around the world.
On Monday's final at the Colombo's Premadasa Stadium, Tendulkar played knock of mere excellence.
His 44th hundred not only proved all those critics wrong who say "Sachin always fails in Finals", but also gave all of them an advise to shut their mouths. Guys its was his 5th hundred in the Finals of any tournament. 44th in ODI's and 86th International century.
Tendulkar scored 44th century to take India to 319 and set a platform to break the jinx of finals. His 138 run-knock which included 10 fours and 1 towering six has been a much satisfying one for all the cricket fans who were waiting for One-day season to come.
Tendulkar has been in great form in the recent past especially. This was his ninth international hundred since May 2007 and has been dismissed seven times in the 90s.
Sachin was more subdued on Monday, perhaps looking to end a run of five straight defeats in completed tournament finals to Sri Lanka.
Tendulkar's blend of experience and might didn't disappoint the cricket lovers and his fans as the batting maestro sent the ball to boundary on ten occasions.
Tendulkar didn't let Sri Lankan bowlers go their way. He played all the balls with might and prudence, showing superb game. Tendulkar shared very valuable partnerships with Rahul Dravid, MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh.
